Eclipse Phase: The Five Soul Lock

It’s a game of cat and mouse for the intrepid agents of Firewall! Executives, comptrollers and researchers within the Planetary Consortium have disappeared within the last few months, leaving only stackless morphs in their places. The mesh IDs of these individuals have popped up in databases trying to brute force hack into various Hypercorps; Cognite the primary target. The Consortium congress, worried that these attacks may start to affect all of the Hypercorps members, has dispatched a special investigations team to Thought to uncover the nature of the attacks and what true threat they pose.

This game was made possible thanks to the RPPR patreon backers. As always, we are grateful for getting the chance to play and record games with them!

Eclipse Phase: Price of Doing Business

We recently ran an online game of Eclipse Phase. We were partly inspired to run this after watching a video by PBS Space Time covering the advantages of colonising Venus. A lot of the content discussed in the video is touched on in the Venus chapter of Sunward Eclipse Phase Book. If you are interested in checking out that video you can find it here!

The game itself follows our two player characters as they try to catch a smuggler transporting contraband onto the Venusian cloud cities.

Call Of Cthulhu – Die High: Online Game

A few weeks ago Raymond got to play in another RPPR online fan game, this time a modern day Call of Cthulhu game.
It was Raymond’s first time playing CoC, but he was familiar with the system thanks to his time spent listening to Role Playing Public Radio’s actual plays.

This scenario was run by Aaron and takes place in modern day Chicago. A group of astronomy students are atop a skyscraper, hoping to catch a glimpse at the heavens; when one of them is struck down by a mysterious presence!
Listen in as the players try to discover the truth about what happened to their friend, and what strange entity lurks in the clouds above the windy city. Find out in this actual play of Die High!

This game was only possible thanks to the all the people that support Role Playing Public Radio on Patreon. Raymond is one of them, and if you’d like to show your support for RPPR you can pledge Ross and the rest of his crew some cash over here. Or if you just want to listen to more podcast and actual plays you can find more from RPPR and RPPR actual play by clicking those names respectively.

If you you enjoyed this podcast please like it on wordpress or soundcloud, or leave us a comment. If you want to help Kim and Raymond out, the best thing you could do is share the podcast! It’s how new people discover the site, and it helps us attract more listeners.

Eclipse Phase: Fast Extraction.

This week we’ve got a nice short Eclipse Phase scenario that i just sort of whacked together. It’s a Martian Train heist, to kidnap a Jovian VIP. there are some references to our eCOPse phase games(new one in may).
If you’d rather watch the live stream than listen to it, you can find it HERE.

This is only the second game I’ve ever run online. I’ve played in a couple of online games lately and it removes some of the scheduling issues of a normal in person TTRPG run. This was probably the most linear scenario I’ve ever run, and the shortest; in spite of that i kinda loved it. I hope to run more online games in the future.

If you want to play in one of our online games: like us on facebook, follow us on WordPress, Soundcloud, and Twitter. I’ll try and run an online game every month, and they will be announced on those platforms…maybe we should do a mailing list as well?

ANYWAY: please LIKE, SHARE, COMMENT, FOLLOW, and SUBSCRIBE <3

Atomic Robo: Big Trouble in Akihabara – presented by RPPR

A couple of weeks back Raymond got to play his first game using the FATE rules. It was an online game of Atomic Robo run by RPPR, this time Aaron. RPPR are great podcasters; they do actual plays and a more traditional podcast/talk show type thing. You can fine them over here: http://slangdesign.com/rppr/
If you’d like to hear the whole recording, including the off topic stuff you can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6MAT6IBKYac6cMvntElFbVJBlmHqsl6F
But I STRONGLY recommend the edited down audio version.

We’re not big Atomic Robo fans here at [IQH] but it’s an interesting setting filled with super science.

This is the set up the players were given:
Biomega Alert in Chiyoda Ward! Creatures from another dimension are stalking the alleyways of the Akihabara district. Citizens and technology are disappearing left and right, leaving behind shaken bystanders and stories of monsters. In an attempt to stop this campaign of terror, the Japanese government calls on their secret weapon for handing super-science threats: The Science Team Super 5! However on their first encounter with these creatures, the Super 5 seem the vanish without a trace. Running out of options, Japans premiere research division, Big Science Inc, calls on Atomic Robo and the Fightin’ Scientists of Tesladyne to find the Super 5 and discover the secret of the shadow monsters. Will they be able to save Japan in time?

Loved this game, really liked the rules. in fact I have an idea for a FATE setting that I’ll be revealing on our Crusading Couch pitch episode in June. OH also, I (Raymond) both improvise and sing a song in this podcast.

If you liked this podcast please check out our other recordings, as well as RPPR’s.
