Cards Against Humanity: First Blood

We recently had a few game nights in our neck of the woods, lots of board games and card games were played. We managed to record of few of them.
This is one right here, Cards Against Humanity; it’s way different to the things we normally play, but it is good, wholesome, outrageous, racist, disgusting, ball slapping, shit eating, fun; WITH A CAPITAL F!

eCOPse phase: Family Is More Than Blood

(The recording for this episode was 5 hours long, so we cut it into 2 parts.)
Ardent & Kurtis are troubled by their past together. The daughter of two soap opera stars has gone missing. The Crimson Tide is rising. All this and more! In this weeks eCOPse phase double feature actual play!

The Crusading Couch Episode 9: Inspiration

This month Wilfred, Kim, and Raymond decided to talk about inspiration; the varied and odd places we find it, the ways in which we apply it, and a bunch of other stuff.

We also asked you to check out two kickstarters for some RPGs.  One called Blue Rose, a game of romantic fantasy, and the other a paranormal police procedural called The Thin Blue Line.

There’s only a few days left for you to finish this months writing challenge, you can find all the details right here!

The Crusading Couch episode 8: Would You Be Interested?

Slightly longer episode this month, but it is well worth it.

This months episode is all about game pitches. Wilfred, Kim, and Raymond each came up with 3 different campaign ideas(for a total of 9). We pitched them to each other; but we want to see what you guys think?
Do you have any suggestions for possible systems? Is their a game that you’d love us to play? which of these do you want to play? Would you run any of these ideas? Please leave us a comment with any feed back or questions you have!

Remember there is only a week left to complete this months writing challenge. You can learn more here.

Call Of Cthulhu – Die High: Online Game

A few weeks ago Raymond got to play in another RPPR online fan game, this time a modern day Call of Cthulhu game.
It was Raymond’s first time playing CoC, but he was familiar with the system thanks to his time spent listening to Role Playing Public Radio’s actual plays.

This scenario was run by Aaron and takes place in modern day Chicago. A group of astronomy students are atop a skyscraper, hoping to catch a glimpse at the heavens; when one of them is struck down by a mysterious presence!
Listen in as the players try to discover the truth about what happened to their friend, and what strange entity lurks in the clouds above the windy city. Find out in this actual play of Die High!

This game was only possible thanks to the all the people that support Role Playing Public Radio on Patreon. Raymond is one of them, and if you’d like to show your support for RPPR you can pledge Ross and the rest of his crew some cash over here. Or if you just want to listen to more podcast and actual plays you can find more from RPPR and RPPR actual play by clicking those names respectively.

If you you enjoyed this podcast please like it on wordpress or soundcloud, or leave us a comment. If you want to help Kim and Raymond out, the best thing you could do is share the podcast! It’s how new people discover the site, and it helps us attract more listeners.

Eclipse Phase one shot: Homesteading.

A first-in gatecrashing mission out of Pandora leads to a strange discovery.

A mishap with scheduling, and two new players, meant that this scenario ended up being a little more rushed. Still worth listening to, I had a lot of fun doing some character voices.

We’ll be running an online Eclipse Phase game later this month, you can find more info on our facebook page, or our twitter.

King Arthur Pendragon – episode 2: dragon hunt

In this months edition of KAP the players go after a dragon that has been harrying Sir Guys serfs.

Sadly there was a malfunction with our voice recorder so the last 40 minutes of this recording are missing. I’ve included a recap at the end, and we’ve taken steps to prevent this in the future.

If you liked this recording, please check out the other podcasts on our other site. we’re always happy to hear feed and read comments from you guys as well.

The Crusading Couch episode 6: game reviews!

April’s episode of The Crusading Couch is here and ready for the listeners!
This month we tested out a new episode format where we review (for lack of a better word) three RPGs. We outlined their settings, touched on the rules, discussed the various pro’s and con’s of the games, and then suggest who might enjoy these games.

The three games we talked about were: Eclipse Phase, New World of Darkness, and Star Wars: Edge of the Empire.

Reminder that tomorrow is the last day of this months writing challenge. Raymond feels a little behind so he’s got a lot of typing to do today!

Eclipse Phase: Fast Extraction.

This week we’ve got a nice short Eclipse Phase scenario that i just sort of whacked together. It’s a Martian Train heist, to kidnap a Jovian VIP. there are some references to our eCOPse phase games(new one in may).
If you’d rather watch the live stream than listen to it, you can find it HERE.

This is only the second game I’ve ever run online. I’ve played in a couple of online games lately and it removes some of the scheduling issues of a normal in person TTRPG run. This was probably the most linear scenario I’ve ever run, and the shortest; in spite of that i kinda loved it. I hope to run more online games in the future.

If you want to play in one of our online games: like us on facebook, follow us on WordPress, Soundcloud, and Twitter. I’ll try and run an online game every month, and they will be announced on those platforms…maybe we should do a mailing list as well?

The Quiet Year: Bears. Bears Everywhere.

This weeks podcast is another recording we made on International Table Top day, our second game of The Quiet Year.

Raymond helped run this game as we had five players. Things went off the rails pretty hard at times, but it was all good fun.

the photos we took of the map didn’t come out very well, but here they are anyway.

If you liked this game, we have other quiet year recordings you could check out.
