Solo: [My Favourite Pilot!!]

It’s August, it’s nonbinary TTRPG month, and we’ve got so much planned. 2 conventions, a Ray’s birthday, some collaborations with other nonbinary folks, and a new product release from Ray.

And to make it even more fantastic; we’re going to be bringing you 4 episode of our new series Solo. This series is all about exploring single player RPGs, and highlighting this innovative and avant garde area of RPG design.

This week we’re playing My Favourite Pilot!! A game by Sophie Mallinson that was made as part of the Emotional Mecha Game Jam. It’s a tight little game about how we respond to the loss of celebrities, and their impact on our growth.

Solo: [Death Sentence]

Content Warning: Death, War.
Solo is a new series from us where Ray will be taking a closer look at single player RPGs. The first season of this new show will look at Solo RPGs from the Emotional Mecha Game Jam.

First up is Death Sentence, a game by Jeff Ellis. In it you play as a mech pilot, left behind after helping a colony ship safely escape this sector of space. The enemy approaches, and you have to decide what to do with your final moments…and compose your final words.

First Look: [With Fire Thy Affections Hold A Wing]

Nika and Ray take a look at a romantic 2 person RPG about Dragons and Riders and the apocalypse.

It’s a lovely emotional game that also feeds into some cool power fantasy stuff. And has some nice tools for helping you build the mood and tone.

Join Liulfer and Iosulumryt as they overcome the violence of their world, discover their love for each other, and undo the apocalypse.

Oracle: Lone Traveller

[Content Warning, this episode involves Butchery, Carrion, and Bugs.]

Oracle is a future telling role playing game. Using special cards the Oracle and Travellers attempt to divine what the coming adventure will bring. How they will try and overcome challenges. And what their ultimate fate shall be.

First Look: [Angel Project]

Ellery, Caitlyn, Sofi, and Ray got together to playtest a bit of Angel Project.

Angel Project is an upcoming RPG from the folks behind Magical Fury (find more of their stuff here.) You play potential members of an elite fighting group. And through the course of play become armed with special armoured fighting suits. 
It takes some elements of the magical girl genre and blends in more sci-fi elements, military hardware. For us a key touch stone was Bubblegum Crisis.

First Look: LANCER – A B NORMAL

LANCER is an upcoming Mecha RPG about rugged pilots and their Mechanized Cavalry Mech Suits. We had the chance to play a session with one of our Patrons.

On the planet Em-ewe, the region of Sydan has been seized by foreign insurrectionists. Caught in the crossfire is Alvilda Bondam, daughter of a planetary politician. Our pilots have to exfiltrate her to the Dyna city Spaceport before she’s killed or captured for ransom. They also have transport her across a hostile city before the enemy forces overrun said spaceport.
