Our 30th interview, and it’s a really interesting topic.
The San Jenaro Co-Op is a new experiment in RPG production. A cooperatively owned and run organisation working together to promote and produce RPG content. With each member sharing in the profits.
They sent two members of their org over to talk to us. New comer to the industry Chris, and established designer Liam. I was excited to be part of Chris’ learning process, and also to hear both of them tell me about the interesting work they are doing over at San Jenaro.
If you want to get involved with San Jenaro you can join their discord.
You can find more from liam and Chris on twitter.
Chris also has a Patreon, and a Twitch stream.
You can buy Liam’s individually published work on DrivethruRPG or their Itch store.

When did you become interested in RPG. I know you were into going to medieval weekends, but do not remember you playing D&D. I guess going to a Performing Arts School helped to?
It’s something I got interesting in around 2010-2011. Some friends showed me Pathfinder, a game based on D&D and I thought it was engaging enough. I really started to get involved when we started playing the New World Of Darkness stuff a few years later. After a while though I realised there was a lot about both of those games that I didn’t like, and so I started looking for more games that were closer to the stories I enjoyed. Which lead me to finding games with mechanics that found easier to understand and play with.
